To me, the essence of my artistic process lies in staying true to who I am. When I speak of truthfulness, I’m not implying that there’s deceit or dishonesty in art; I acknowledge that art can be both brutally honest and shrouded in mystery.As a creator, my primary commitment is to be authentic to myself, as it’s crucial for my artistic satisfaction. We all have countless choices for how to spend our time on this planet, and for me, being in my studio is a form of reciprocation.You could say it’s almost hedonistic, not in the sense of base pleasures, but in the pursuit of an inner joy. I need to be in my studio because I genuinely want to be there, not out of obligation or an unspoken compulsion to create. I’m there because I love it, because I derive immense enjoyment from it.
